Before Your Session

When you book your session, we'll discuss a date, time, and location. We'll shoot in a place of your choosing and if you don't have a special place in mind, I have some favorites. If your session will be outside, keep in mind the most flattering light is at sunrise or soon after and at sunset or soon before. However, we are not limited to those times. If your session will be in your home, be sure to note when the best light flows in during the day.

A non-refundable fee of $50 is due within 7 days from the time of booking. The remainder of the session fee is due the day of your session. You may also pay your session fee up front if you prefer.

Once your deposit is received, I'll send you a packet with further information. The packet will include confirmation of our session, clothing suggestions, and simple paperwork including a questionnaire I'll ask you to fill out and return to me prior to your session. This will help me start to get to know your family, as well as make sure we get everything out of your session that you expect. If you have specific ideas for photos, let me know so we can work together to capture those images.

During Your Session

We'll spend 1-2 hours together (longer for newborns.) I not only allow but I encourage clothing changes. Feel free to bring hats, boots, scarves, musical instruments, sports equipment, or anything that will make your photos more "you". Or if you prefer to keep it simple, that's fine too. This time should be all about you, your family, or your special event. I want you to relax, enjoy, and have fun!

Being a Mom, I know kids can be completely unpredictable. I understand the need for breaks, diaper changes, snacks, etc. Again, this time is about you and your family so don't sweat it. If your child is in bad mood, try not to stress. I've yet to meet a child that won't warm up once the process begins.

I will most likely be in jeans and prefer to shoot barefoot when possible. Don't be surprised if you see me down on the floor, acting silly with the kids. I want them to get familiar with me and the camera before we begin. I ask that especially with older children, you allow me the time and space needed to engage them.

After Your Session

About 2 weeks after your session, you'll receive a password to access your personal online gallery. Your gallery will remain active for 14 days to review your proofs and share with family and friends. A post session viewing appointment can also be arranged if you prefer. I will try my best to put a "sneak peek" up on my blog soon after our session.

I do have little ones at home so my sessions per month are limited. Please book as early as possible. Expecting Moms, don't wait until after the baby is born to contact me. Newborns are best shot within the first 10 days.
